yeah seriously, I can imagine. There was this one girl who I pretty much only understood 10% of what she was saying and I don't even know how to tell what part of Quebec she's from. Now I can completely see what people mean by the French used in/on Radio-Canada is different... cos fuck I understand what people say at work, and even what is being said on RDI (the SRC news network if you remember ;), waaaay better!!!
I think going to a French school and having predominant Quebecois friends is probably required in order to understand the joual... I'm just feeling that I'm too old for this and should just take the easy route and move to Toronto next year or something. Sigh.
And do all traditional Quebecois songs call for large amount of hand-clapping, doing "waves" with your arms, and singing in unison? I bet you know most of the songs that were sung last night. ;)
