well the Radio Canada french is like the 'TV accent' in the states. what do they call that; a mid alantic accent?
anyway I'd suggest watching some of those bad made-in-Quebec sitcoms if you want to work on the slang thing. also, when in doubt speak fast. Although truth be told, I sort of dig Toronto. Yes its expensive as heck but I actually feel more comfortable here than in the QC and I'm way more social.
If I do know those songs, I'm sure I've blocked them out. Because although I speak the language, I wouldn't say I embrace the culture. I'm not really into all that clappy folk song stuff... plus a lot of those songs are rather political. Mon pays, ce n'est pas un pays and all of that.
